So much has happened with Sippin' parties and programs, all very exciting, lots of fun, and truly dreams come through...Janet & Craig kicked it off with 30 people in their lovely waterfront home in Tiburon.  Wonderful family and friends gathered and enjoyed special home made treats made with lots of love by Janet. We enjoyed varieties of red and white wines that Craig was pouring.  Presenting the book and inviting conversation in a home environment was as warm and inviting as I had imagined.
It set a good standard for the book store welcome in Marin by Susan at Book Passage on Monday, August 3.  Sharing among friends and community, many of whom took home copies of Sippin', was very rewarding.  It was particularly meaningful when my daughter, entering college in September, asked a powerful question: "Doesn't seeking to find moments each day to celebrate and bless create a risk that such focus and celebration would likely diminish the significance of the official holidays, like Sabbath"?  Tremendous conversation ensued, and unbeknownst to her and the gathering she had raised a question that I had addressed directly in one of the Sips that was not included in the book.  That was a fun discussion!
And that leads me to this evening, Thursday, August 6: What a tremendously warm and loving welcome to all of us from the folks at Readers' Books in Sonoma, and their supporters and friends of my family and so many others, the Noonans, who welcomed everyone to their home two blocks away after the program, introduced by Sonoma wines and cheese from the Sonoma Cheese Factory.
Conversation was generated by Sip 47 and people shared amazing stories of how coincidences played a significant part in a life memory.
There were amazing tales: the one who was delayed badly in his flight home from Canada, and being placed on a plane hours later, seated next to a man, who it turned out had grown up in his neighborhood in New York, in fact in his grandparents' apartment building, and in fact had known them and knew all about his childhood.  Meeting this man took all the sting out of the inconvenience that had led to the meeting.  The stories flowed as the wine and cheese and crackers were enjoyed and books found homes.

In other news, in addition to encouraging people to find out about Sippin' and WineSpirit activity on Twitter, we have now set up a WineSpirit Facebook account.  The Facebook ID is WineSpirit Napa; the Twitter address is @WineSpiritUSA
